Knowledge of materials and experimental possibilities using traditional sculpting techniques are the key point in this course.
We will discover the sensual experimental approach to the different properties of materials such as plaster, clay, wire, cardboard, plastic, foil, wood, steel, water, air etc. Techniques all about modeling and casting will be practiced and on this basis the experimental potential searched out. Hereby we discover the productive juxtapositions through “forced coincidences” and aimed artistic intervention and use them to our creative advantage.
Using specific exercises and set themes, possibilities are researched, from materials to technique, which may lead to an individual sculptural discovery. The rich experiences in the first few days allow the participants more and more to develop their own artistic ideas and concepts in the field of creative sculpting.
