For all design degree courses (communication design, product-, fashion-, media-, graphic-, industrial design, etc.) as well as for architecture, interior design, fine arts, art, illustration, costume design, set design, and also goals and procedures.
Would you like to successfully apply for an artistic field of study? Would you like to thoroughly prepare for an exam? The intensive course Portfolio is preparation for a degree in an artistic or design-related subject.
With three decades of experience, the European Academy of Fine Arts advises and trains you for the successful admittance into a college of higher education, university, or academy. The success rates for the acceptance of application portfolios and acceptance tests are over 95%. In a competent team of specialists (designers with degrees, art directors, instructors from colleges, universities and academies) we have developed a nine-week syllabus of instruction. This plan qualifies you to create an individual application portfolio, to create a term paper in one of the targeted fields of study, and to professionally prepare yourself for a test.
In addition to the practical preparation, we also advise you for the various artistic/design-related job descriptions and assist you in making decisions for the corresponding fields of study.
During first two weeks, you will obtain instruction for the basic graphic disciplines in the form of creative assignments. Afterwards, the instructors will work with you on strategies for your individual portfolio conception. As brainstorming and the development of the creative process have been seen as the biggest problems in the past, these methods will be practiced especially intensively.
It is also possible through an arrangement with the instructor to ascertain and utilize other artistic techniques in addition to drawing, depending on ones study plan, personal preparatory training, or thematic approach. For the preparation for an advanced education, it is wise to work interdisciplinary; for example, with a mixture of drawing techniques, photography, digital image editing, collage, experimental sculpture and functional objects from different materials, or even with wood cutting and other types of relief printing.
Regularly held lectures about the various aspects of contemporary artistic works, as well as an excursion to a current, international exhibit, will enhance and deepen your knowledge. After the first four weeks, you will be able to utilize the multifaceted offer of the Easter course.
When you sign up for the course, you should when possible indicate your intended field of study, so that the Academy staff can reserve an appropriate space during the Easter course (weeks 5 & 6) for you.
In coordination with the simultaneous courses of drawing, painting and sculpture, the workshops and other possibilities of these classes can also be used by students with the agreement of the instructors.
